Harvesting is a critical period in the annual lifecycle of a vineyard. We understand it is vitally important to ensure grapes are harvested in a timely and efficient manner to meet grower and winemaker expectations. The Terraces can take the stress out of harvesting by coordinating the entire process. We have an extensive and flexible fleet of equipment which will service the needs of virtually any vineyard type and trellis system. This is supported by an experienced and dedicated team of people who recognise the importance of a quality and a timely picking job.
Machine Harvesting
We have six types of harvesters available, each with its own strengths. Our maintenance program ensures machinery operates at its maximum efficiency during the critical harvest period.
The harvesters can also be supplied with:
- Pick up tractors and drivers
- Bin trailers
- Gondolas
- Tip trailers
- Fork lift
The Terraces can coordinate transport from your vineyard to the winery and liaise closely with the relevant winery to ensure all requirements and delivery deadlines are fulfilled.
Hand Picking
Not all vineyards can be machine harvested for a variety of reasons and The Terraces has been supplying picking teams for over 20 years. Many vineyards still have a requirement for hand picking due to vine age, trellis type or specific winery demands.
We have experienced supervisors who manage the team to minimise wastage of grapes and damage to vines. We pay our staff on piece rates or hourly rates depending on what the grower requires and the difficulty of the pick.
All equipment is supplied including:
- Pick up tractors
- Bin trailers or tip trailers
- Portable toilets
- Water and first aid equipment
